Description
My grandfather bought this horse for his barber shop in Water Valley, Mississippi, back in the early 1930's. We think it was new. It has been made free at some point, but the logo reads .10. It is a Crusader. The logo on the machine box reads Lots of Action! Loads of Fun! Ride 'Em Cowboy, A Real Thrill!, with a picture of a horse and rider bucking in the air. The saddle is original, but needs work. The horse turns on by the handle at the front of the saddle. It will go fast or slow, depending on how far you turn the handle. The horse has one coat of new paint on it. When I got it, it had so many coats, the we couldn't tell what color it had been originally.
Re: 1930's mechanical coin operated horse
I have the same exact horse! My brother, sister and I rode if frequently as children. My father picked it up somewhere in Mississippi, where we resided. We just started sandblasted the bottom which revealed a very worn out Crusader graphic. We are now looking to restore the horse to its original condition. Do you have a photo of the Crusader graphic. Unfortunately, we cannot determine the original colors of the actual horse either. Also, there are strange holes in the aluminum saddle. Do you know if your horse come with a removable saddle, stirup or reigns? We cannot find any information on this horse anywhere. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
