Long Description
I have a solid cherry dining table and chairs made by Davis Cabinet Company. Â It was purchased in 1954 by my grandmother and was very well taken care of. Â The upholstry on the chairs is great with no holes or stains, but the pads underneath probably need replacing. Â The table has a custom cover that was rarely removed so the top is in great condition. Â It measures 52" across, and has two 18" leaves to go with it. Â Some of the wooden pegs that you use to align the leaves have broken off. Â There are 5 chairs and one captains or "arm" chair. Â There are a few small scuff marks on some of the legs of the chairs, and a few around the table edge, Â but the whole set is in great condition. Â I am just wondering what it is worth?
History
My grandmother purchased it in 1954 new from Davis Cabinet Company. She had it in her house for 50 years, until she moved to an apartment and gave it to me. It was polished and well taken care of regularly by a housekeeper.
Price Paid (If known)
I don't know what she paid for it originally but told me it was worth $4,000 to $5,000 in 1993?
