Stout piece of classic porcelain. It is surprisingly heavy, with the massive foot grounding it firmly. It features a very nice scene of a girl picking roses from a trellis and placing them in her basket. One has fallen to the ground. The entire vase is hand painted, and initialed with what appears to be a date (95?). The details of the mold are all gilted, which is nice since these are usually painted over on other pieces that I have seen. There is no decorators mark.
While there is some very minor wear to the gilt on the backs of the handles (edges only) and just around the back edge of the rim, I would rate this piece as a 9 or higher out of 10. There are no flea bites, dings, chips, hairlines, cracks, touch-ups or repairs of any kind. It seems that this one spent the bulk of its days in a cabinet, cherished by the owner.
Thanks for any info, as I am trying to determine if we should insure it or not. Hopefully someone on this great site will have an idea of what it is worth.
