THIS GORGEOUS ANTIQUE TIGER OAK SIDEBOARD BUFFET WAS PAINTED WHITE BY SOMEBODY AND THE PAINT WAS REMOVED TO THE WOOD. IT IS GORGEOUS AND NEEDS TO BE REFINISHED. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING SIMILAR AND I DO NOT KNOW EVEN ITS AGE. ANY INFORMATION I CAN GET WOULD BE TRULY APPRECIATED. IT HAS VERY UNUSUAL ONE OF A KIND HANDLES. ALL ORIGINAL.
This vase is 14lbs. Heavy at the bottom. Aquamarine in color. 19 inches high. 2 inches in diameter at the top. At 8 inches in the lenght it flows out to 6 inches then to 4 inches at the bottom. Very thick glass. Has a signature, but it is in Japanese and I can't read it. Has very ornate etchings of cherry blossoms and a bird that wraps almost all around the vase. The top of the vase is 1/2 an inch thick.
My husbands aunt gave us this stone peice to research for her, and we are not quite sure what kind of stone or what it actually is. We have been told possibly a pllumb bob or some kind of a antique tool.
She took it to an antique place and they thought it was soapstone, but were not sure what it was really. To me it looks like it could be Jade, you can not scratch it, and online they say soapstone would scratch if you took a knife to it.
Ive got a painting of a cabin in a wooded area, near a stream. It appears to be autumn, because the leaves are turning color. It is done in oil paint. On the other side of this painting is another done in pastel, and it is of a young boy with brown haie and eyes.He wears a green shirt. The only thing written on this piece is "Judia".Can anyone tell me what Ive got here?
