One drawer night stand or side table. Dark walnut or oak? Table dimensions are: 26" wide x 14" deep x 30 1/2 high.
I purchased a Burkey & Gaye bedroom suite in 1980 and this table was used as a night stand although not part of the original bedroom suite was included with my purchase. Handwritten on the underside of the table and drawer reads the following "Handmade for Mrs. Homer Hough by Robert S. Shaw, 1170 Lifur Ave., L.A. 1932". The bedroom set was from the approximate same time frame, early 1930's. I am interested in finding out any information about this table, maker, previous owner and of coarse a value or appraisal of its worth.
A cast bronze piece that was made to honor Francis E Willard, who was involved in the temperance movement and women's voting rights. The overall size of the piece is 3.25" X 3.25" X 1.4375" deep. It appears to have been made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of her birth (1839-1939). As the piece has raised feet on the nderside it was no doubt made to be displayed on a fire place mantle, shelf, or other similar flat surfaces.
I bought an old sketchbook from an estate sale. It's all battered up, dirty, and missing more than a few pages. The reason why I bought it is because I liked the sketches that were in it. There's a few people, some faces, and one landscape. There's also some writing in the book, but I can't make out what it says. Any information on the price or who the artist might be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
