This is vase which has been mounted to use as a table lamp. The electrical was originally done sometime between 1920-1939 but has been replaced since then. The shade is not original. The lamp belonged to my parents who obtained it when my paternal grandparents died. My grandfather was a jeweler in Manhattan and had access to these types of decorations.
I would like, if possible, to verify if it originally a Satsuma vase and if so, approximately what time period was it produced.
All I know is that it's a fainting couch that was owned by my grandmother,(I'm 53). Its believed to have been originally purchased by my grandmothers mother-in-law. There are know tags or lables for me to look up style or manufacture.
Stamped on frame paper on back is MADE IN U.S.A. 152604
The picture was purchased by my father. I don't know when or where. It hung in our house for about 40 years. I have the picture now.
The picture attached to this appraisal is NOT a copy of the picture I own. I was unable to take a photo at the present time, so I attached a copy of someone else's post of the same painting. My copy is in much better condition than the one shown here. The picture itself is in perfect condition. The frame slightly stained.
The picture shown now is my picture. I was able to upload it after I posted the appraisal request.
