antique saddle by Laramie Grocery Company

Category
Other
Condition
Fair
Description

Antique saddle made by Laramie Grocery Company.

I have had a hard time getting information on this maker or this saddle, I have been told that it is very rare.

This saddle has not been well cared for, and I'm sure was used a lot. It is not a parade style saddle, it is more of a working mans saddle. Two conchos are missing on one side, and the fleece underneath is almost all gone. The tooling pattern is a simple weave. I am pretty sure I have the stirups out in the tack room.

The makers stamp

LARAMIE GRO. CO.

Then on the back it says

75WF

Picture #1 is a full picture from the right side

Picture #2 is a picture of the seat showing the pattern

If this saddle is worth anything I might be interested in selling it.

Dining Table Drexel

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

1970 Drexel dining table.  What I have been able to find out is it is about 80 x 46 with out leaves.  3 leaves, each with inlay.  The overall deminsion extends to 153 inches.  It is accompanied by 6 chairs.  2 arm chairs and 4 side chairs.  Back legs to chairs are squared and curled out wards, front legs are more like inverted banister posts and ornate.  Cushion is felt, 1970 sky bluish in color.  The backs are oval with a woven center.  From one site it looks like the inlay on the table is burled olive wood.

Church or Government voting box?

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Good
Description

This piece is something I have never seen before. It is hand made wood construction with looks like brass hardware. I was told by a friend she thought it was a old voting box? You would hold it by the handle so it was upright and when there was a need to vote in the church or gov. It was a annonymous way of voting each person deposited the color marble that resembled yes or no into the top and it passed through the hole into the collection box below. To then be counted later. The construction reinforces this idea so I think she may have something there. The lower front flap flips up to reveal the contents (colored marbles/ balls) you can see discoloring of round objects that sat inside for a while to confirm this. There are no markings anywhere.

Condition is used, fair/good, no broken pieces and everything is attached and working order. The wood has some wear especially the handle from years of use. Any help as to age and worth would be great!
