It is inscribed "New London & Mohegan Dairies Inc New London Conn" on the metal milk can. It is vintage it seems and rusted a bit. I am curious what this item is exactly and how much it might be worth. Thank you in advance for your help...
I bought this inkwell at a flea market but it looks old and I can't find any information online about it save an auction on eBay selling one for $150. That one is blue but the one I bought it a greenish brown. I would like to find as much information as I can about it such as when it was made, where it was made, who made it, and of course how much is it worth?
I have a Item of unknown origin...came from oakland california from a estate sale...I have no further information on it..but all I know it is very heavy...weighs around 1500 pounds at least !
This is a scene carved on a dragon. There are eight figures on the dragon which appear to be "riding" the dragon like a boat. Two figures are sitting down playing a game on a checkered board. Three figures are standing behind the men onlooking. There is a figure positioned toward the back of the dragon sitting down holding some sort of object (possibly a musical instrument/harp) along with two additional figures sitting down positioned in front of the men playing the game. These figures also appear to be holding objects as well.
The carving is very detailed and appears to be fine crafsmanship. The object has been stained with red dye.
I believe this trunk to be an asian camphor chest, but I am not positive. Not water stains, and generally in great condition. Not sure of age. I was unable to find any manufacturing marks, names, or dates. The chest was orginally purchased over seas and later purchased by my mother who in turn gave to me.
