I have a doulton burslem jug, from the period 1891-1901 i believe. the item is 10 inches in height, has no chips or cracks visible. there is a different floral print on each side of jug. The base has 3 markings on it the name doulton etched into base along with the number 640 and the company red stamp doulton burslem england. I would like like to know any information possible and a value as i can not find any information.

My friends brother brought these 2 vases bak from overseas as a gift for his Mother appx. 31 years ago. Both brother & Mom have passed & my friend knows nothing about them. They have been dust collectors- until I spotted them. They could be porcelain. No signature or maker marks - there is readable text (in chinese!) on the tapered part of the neck. Can anyone translate & tell me what it says? Any guesstimates as to the age, origin or value of the vases?
