I have a flat rectangle silver on copper antique salver. I have not polished it and there are worn spots where copper is showing. This has been hammered. The design on front has some shells and some swirly designs. The designs are not very visible. The only markings on the back is silver on copper in between two dragons with a s in a circle underneath them. I researched this mark and found it under Theodore B. Starr. I have been unable to locate this type of piece in the Starr collection. I would like some help 1. Identifying the maker 2. Identifying the time period 3. Identifying the value. Thank you for your help.
The tapestry measures 27" W x 32"L. The Stiching used looks to be Gold, Bronze, and Yellow. The tapestry is bordered by Gold stiching and bead work. The center is of a person riding an elephant (it is elevated by a filler). The corners each have a type of bird (all elevated). I have no information as to age or origin.
This cedar chest was purchased by my father in December 1951. It was made by The Honderich Furniture Company Ltd in Milverton, Ontario Canada. I have attached a picture of the insurance certificate that was issued for the chest.
I have a set of bone china dessert plates, cups and saucers that I inherited from my great-grandparents that I am looking for information on. They do not have any makers marks on them. They got them in the early 1930's so I know they are at least that old. The dessert plates are 7 1/2 inches in diameter, the saucers are 6 inches and the cups are 3 1/2 inches.
