Chinese Giltwood Figures

Category
China
Condition
Good
Description

Bought these two matching figurines in an antique store.  The words MADEINCHINA are on the side of one of the figurines.  They stand 4 ft tall and 1 foot wide.  They are made out of wood. There are 3 slots on both figures where it looks like something could be attached between the two figures.

Can anyone help me by telling me what in the world they are?
