17th Century Carved English coffer or chest

Category
European Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

Very nice coffer or trunk.  Based on info received and found I guess it dates from 1640-1650.  Has style elements from Yorkshire, England but also some that could be Danish.  Coffer is in the US, and I am wondering if it could be an early american coffer, with crossover styles.  Would appreciate any insights.

Condition
Good
Description

When I was about  4 years old my grandfather used to take me the dump and on one side of the dump was an old house that the sea was about to reclaim, managed to get in whilst it was just hanging in there,  I saw the cup way up on a shelf and wanted it so granddad  got it down for me and I have always had it, not long after that the house went into the sea.
