My grandmother had this bed sitting in a backroom of her farm for many years. Paid $500 to have it refinished 7 years ago. Bed was damaged by movers. Caps are dented and there are scratches in the clearcoat which is causing tarnishing. I am trying to find out the before and after damage values of the bed to report claim to moving company. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The horse and rider are gilded. The harness is painted red and black. The rider's hat and boots were painted red and black, one boot is gilded. The horse's tail was broken off, a leg slightly cracked, and the rider's neck was cracked when packed improperly by the moving company we used. The horse is still mounted on the arrow, which appears to be in good condition with some wear and crackle to the paint. No markings on the horse or mount. I need to find out the value of the piece prior to being broken and current value so I can settle a claim with the moving company.
This winds up to open about 6 doors on slowly with santa lucia which I believe is the name of the song it plays. It has a small metal cherub, I believe, on the very top and like 3 devil or demon type metal characters only the heads that are on the feet of this. It is made of a heavy metal material and a slick and shiny wood type material that the doors are made out of. each door opens up one by one and there is what looks like velvet on the inside with possibly silver things on the inside of each door.
