 This is open to my interpretation as it is very faintly written.

But this does item looks more Chinese to me. So this item spend at least 50 years and perhaps many more in the home of two adults born in 1904. They lived in the Bay Area in California and ewarlier in their marriage they lived in Los Angeles.
