Painted scene: 2 woman & child in 19th century dress standing outside; surrounded by white field ringed with scalloped 23 karat gold trim, with outer perimeter blue field trimed with gold.
All 4 of these prints portray beautiful color "portraits" of bouquets of flowers. None of the flowers are in vases - they are "suspended in air" with the name Carle or LF Roubillac printed to the lower left of each picture. This set of prints was hidden behind a set of Currier & Ives Prints that were in their original frames and dated 1870. It was a nice surprise to find this set "hidden away" behind the Currier & Ives Prints. The prints are in very nice condition, with a very slight darkening of the outside edge (about 1/16th of an inch) where the backing left the edges exposed due to the way they were "hidden" in the frames. The colors are vivid and basically flawless. The Numbers are consecutive from 29401 to 29404. I really want to know the estimated value of this set. I may consider selling the set in the future after making professional copies of them. Thank you very much and I must thank the good people at "instappraisal" for providing this wonderful service to the public.
