This piece of furniture was given to me by a friend moving out of state. It has nicks and blemishes here and there but all the original hardware is in place. The center drawer when opened reveals a logo which reads "Standard - Herkimer NY" (pictured). It is very heavy. I am guessing but I believe the wood is Oak.
I found this in a crawlspace of a house I just purchased in Sandy Oregon. Sandy is an old mining town and the house was built in the early part of the century.
This table is described as a Empire Card Table, Lyre Motive(without strings). It is circa 1815 and was purchased in the 1970's by my mother. It is generally is good shape. It has little metal wheels attatched on the bottom and the top folds open.
