it has no dought been put togeather by hand.has i3 pcs.Every piece has a #2 punched on them.The 2 center (I call plates)are made of copper sheeting filled with lead and colored in silver and gold.One plate has a roman helmet with a angle holding a feather and the other has a helmet with a golden bull,(see pic's)
This is a piece of art by the artist Andrew Lakey. Andrew was featured on many television shows like Oprah Winfrey , 20/20 , and more because of his life story. He claiams that he had a near death experience and during this time several angels came to him and told him that he had a mission in life to make art that would help people heal. His art is unique because of the 3-D effect. The blind can touch his art and feel what it is. Several books have been written about Lakey and his work is collected by Pres. Jimmy Carter, the late Ray Charles and Pope John Paul II, among many others.
purchased a Keuffel & Esser Co transit that seems to date from 1958. I have attached pictures - I had to wipe out some watermarks from the person I bought it from ( I haven't received it yet) so that's what the blurs are on the photographs. The model number is N5130 and then it says "with 5097-70" under that. The S/N is 156907, which is where I got the date from. I haven't been able to find this particular model number NOR what the 5097-70 means. However, there is another 1958 transit here:
