Description
There is scrolling along the side and as a border on top. There is also a flower motif in the center around the monogram. It is black with a dull sheen and very heavy. It still has the velvet back and divided insert, although the velvet is worn in places. It had a key which got lost a long time ago. The mark is an anchor over a crown, and a band around the mark saying Derby Silver Co, Quadruple Plate. There is also a 1 above the mark with 4315 under it. Does that mean 1 of 4315?
Re: Derby Silver Co Quad Plate Jewelry Box
This is a silverplate item, well silverplated four times item. It is most likely late 1800s or early 1900s, it's a nice piece as far as silver plated items go. $100-125 to the right person, maybe a bit more at the right large auction.
