Ugarit Alphabet Tablet archaeologist Claude Schaeffer

Category
Books and Manuscripts
Condition
Good
Description

I have a blue velvet box with a stone in it that looks like the Ugaritic Alphabet Tablet and a gold colored plack that reads:  L'abecedaire d'ugarit, xiv's. av.jc. decouverte Par prof.cl.shaeffer    Can you give me any information about it? Thank you

The Ugarit clay tablets are to be traced back to the first alphabet.

The first scientific excavations of Ugarit were undertaken by archaeologist Claude Schaeffer from the Musée archéologique in Strasbourg in 1929.

Factory errored 2003 First Editions Hot Wheels 1969 Pontiac GTO "Judge". Does anyone know the value?

Category
Toys
Condition
Good
Description

I have an un-opened Hot Wheels 1969 Pontiac GTO "Judge" from 2003. It was bought brand new at Wal-Mart. I  believe that it has factory errors. It has a scratch on the roof and the body is crooked on the chassis. The package was damaged when I moved to a different state but is still un-opened. The car inside remains in factory condition.

Arvin Model 88P48 with Radio & Garrard 3000 Turntable

Category
Vintage Electronics
Condition
Good
Description

This is an Arvin Model 88P48, Code 1.36401. It's a piece of furniture that opens up at the top to a radio, Garrard 3000 turntable (record player), and a space where records can be kept. It says "Solid State Stereophonic" inside. It looks like you can open it in the front, but the handles are fake; you can only open it up at the top. I assume it has speakers inside because it can generate a lot of volume. The record player and radio both work. The wood in the front looks good, but the wood on the top seems kind of worn.

On the back is a small white sticker with the number 529506 on it and a large silver sticker that lists the code and model numbers and the following text:

105-120 Volts, 60 Cycles

A.C. Only 65 Watts

- Caution -

High voltage inside. Do not remove rear cover. This is a completely transistorized unit and contains no user serviceable parts. Refer all servicing to your Arvin authorized serviceman. Arvin Industries, Inc. Columbus, Indiana

Odd half moon writing desk Can anyone help me?

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I purchased this mysterious desk from an auctioneer a few years ago, I BELIEVE I payed around $300 but I honestly can not recall. Little is known about the piece. I was told in all his years he had never came across a half moon writing desk, but then again he did call it a secretary too lol. Either way, its a little rough on the bottom and has a few scratches but is sturdy and I love it.There is a worn spot where a sticker or tag must have been but I can not find ANY other words or numbers.  I was just wondering if you could tell me the history or ANYTHING else?? Maybe a guess on when it was built? It has a leather piece for writing, and the larger drawers are dovetailed. I am GUESSING it is maybe mahoghany but would appreciate any opinions you may have. PLEASE HELP :)
