Adina Strader

Category
Paintings
Condition
Good
Description

This painting has a beautiful swampy bogg sunset or sunrise setting. It appears to be a magical one where in different lighting it looks different. The lighting changes the setting.

Born in Milton, IA on Sept. 20, 1860. In the 1880s Adina wed physician Harvey W. Strader. The couple lived in Lincoln, NE before migrating to California in 1893. After settling in Sacramento, Mrs. Strader studied painting with Henrietta Fish and Jennie Huber. At the turn of the century she painted china and later excelled at landscapes and floral still lifes. She died in Sacramento on Oct. 21, 1951.
