Vienna Regulator wall clock (possible Gustav Becker/Beidemeir style)

Category
Clocks
Condition
Good
Description

I purchased this Vienna Regulator clock in 1970 while stationed in Germany from a friend who was an American antiques dealer living there. I know nothing of its history or who made it (haven't taken the movement out of the case yet). The movement has a hallmark of just two crossed arrows. I just want a notion of what it might be worth and perhaps if it is worth fixing. The mainspring broke after about 1979 and has not been repaired.

Nineteenth Century Platter

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Condition
Excellent
Description

This platter was passed down thru our family. It is in exceptionally good condition, with very little if any wear, no chips, cracks, dings, or other minor or major problems. Looks like new but a more critical eye might find a very minor flaw I am not aware of. However, the glaze does have very fine "cracks" (what I would call "alligatoring if it were paint, see photo closeup).  I saw one exactly like this on display at The Alamo museum in San Antonio, TX back in the late 1960s which was dated 1834 (not sure if that was correct but could be). I also saw one in an antique ceramics book back in the 1980s which gave it a value then of about $80. I am not sure it is valuable, but it certainly has survived our family remarkably well! We would just like an educated opinion of what its value might be. Thank you very much! Bob M.

Complete Works of Abraham Lincoln Vol.9 1894

Category
Books and Manuscripts
Condition
Mint
Description

In mother's collection.  One of her favorites, never allowed to touch.  Pages are NOT separated.. she said this increased the value.  Never read.. never opened.  Very thin, see through dust jacket still intact, but there are some rips to it.  Otherwise, book is mint.  This is Volume IX, dated 1894, hardback.  Pages have a crimped look to edges, and most are "folded" at the bottom to the next page, thus you'd have to cut them apart to read them.  Book is brown with gold lettering, front has a gold picture of Lincoln seated, binding says "Works of Abraham Lincoln" and further down says "Lincoln Memorial University".  Edited by John G Nicolay and John Hay.  New and enlarged edition
