This is an original artwork by David Coverly of the cartoon "Speed Bump". On Thanksgiving, 2001, cartoon artists from the National Cartoonists Society created their comic strip in memory of the victims of 9-11 and donated the original art work used for that strip to be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Milt Gross Fund for the victims of 9-11 and their families. Some of the cartoonists involved in this auction were Bill Keane (Family Circus), Mort Walker (Beetle Bailey), Marcus Hamilton (Dennis the Menace), Jim Berry (Berry's World) and over 100 more. I purchased three with this one being my favorite because 5 years later my son was killed in Iraq and it holds a special meaning for me. This is the actual frame used to reproduce the comic strip for the newspapers.
I have a miniature handmade leather saddle that I have had for around 15 years, I recieved it from my grandmother, I am not sure where she got it or how old it really is. It has hand stamped designs in the leather of bisons, cacti and stars. There is what I believe is sheep skin underneath the saddle (where it would rest on the horse). I am not sure what else to say about it, if you have any questions please ask. I really need help, I can't seem to find anything comparable online and I am very curious.
