This book pubished in 1855 by Theodore Bliss and written by H.C. Peck is entitled The Kind Father. There is an inscription inside that says Charlie Hutsonpellar presented to him by his father for Chistmas gift 1862. It is a small book, dark blue in color.
I have two of these vases my grandfather left me, the only thing I know about them is that they were expensive at that time, he bought one, and his mother bought the other, when she passed he received hers. I know that they are at least 40+ years old. On the bottom of the vases is two lines crossed in gold paint, and the number 764 and the letter v with a period behind it. Would just like to know some history on these since they were so important to him.
This is a complete Tea Set... stamped Meriden B Company and Quadruple Plated in a double loop with 1960 underneth and then a 6 under that. The pictures where taken in Jan '10 and the closer ones Oct. '10. I have researched this but have not been able to find much info about Meriden. I believe these to be older pieces. All pieces are tarnished and have not been cleaned. These are well taken care of pieces. Hinge on the Pot is perfect, Ivory rings are great...( found that they are ivory) silver shows very well in the Sugar Bowl and lid is in great shape. It is obvious that this is a matching set. And is in extremely good shape. I am not sure about the monograms on the fronts.... I think CF...!
I saw the set in a shop window and saw that it was a matching set, negotiated ( of course ), but I just liked it. I go in the shop to buy bottles for my fruit brandies... at 6.00 - 10.00 bucks each!
Check out the pictures! I did my best! All jpg. Picture jpg.............. sizes exceed limits.
the full size bed is a darker finish like cherry, the headboard has an oval design in the middle with a floral design laid into the wood. the footboard has curved corners and a floral design as well im thinking. the back of the headboard has a label that says T.C.F. Co. and has the date and stuff, but the only part of the date that i could read was "89", obviously it wasnt 1989 since my parents bought it before then. and there was a 58 stamped into the wood on the back also. im guessing that was a production number? the bed has wheels on the bottom but those may have been added later, i dont know. we also have the dresser with mirror and a chest of drawers that match, they have wheels also. but they are in better condition than the bed itself, so i havent checked to see if they are actually part of the set. im more concerned about the bed.
