This is one of Jack Sholund's first paintings, it was give to my parents by him. They in turn gave it to me, but it doesn't go with the decore of my house. It is framed and matted under glass and in perfect condition. I would like to know if there is any value to this painting, for insurance purposes and may want to sell.
I bought this at a garage sale 4 years ago and need to know if it is worth anything and any information about the artist would be great. Cannot find anything online, I keep getting stuff on Charlston Heston. It is a beautiful painting and the frame is gorgeous.

Could be German in origin. Very ornate. Dark brown, off white, and tourquise inside and on ground of picture. Picture of people on horse back in ancient clothing with long spears. Lots of decoration carved into the vessel.
