THIS IS A PRIMITIVE DESK WITH A LETTER BOX.   IT HAS TWO DRAWERS AND WAS BOUGHT AT AN ESTATE SALE FROM AN OLD FARM HOUSE IN VA.  THIS IS REALLY ALL I KNOW ABOUT IT.   I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE LIKE IT AND DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ELSE.   I CAN'T FIND ANY NAMES ON IT.   I JUST ALWAYS PICTURED SOME OLD FARMER MAKING IT IN HIS BARN., BUT I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW ANY INFORMATION ON IT.

Antique swivel desk? chair from the estate of an old man going into a nursing home.  Would like to know if your could tell me the approx age and worth and maybe even the style.  Wood seems to be in excellent condition and just needs a good shine, it is covered in dust.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about these items, except what I thought was a thread holder turns out to be a tatting shuttle. There are no markings on the shuttle, however there are some words on the other item, which is a tape measure. They don't seem to be a set or pair, but they are both abalone. Any information that you can give me about these would be greatly appreciated. I am clueless. :-)

My camera occassionally messes up and the line near the bottom of the tape measure is not damage, but a glitch in the photo.

CAST IRON DECORATIVE ASH TRAY.

The table is solid oak is apprx. 36-42" round.  There are four compartments located just under the top built in to the apron of the table for holding cards, cigarettes or drinks.  The legs are curved.  We have never touched it up or refinished it, as it is in excellent condition.
