I inherited this necklace 5 years ago when my Grandmother passed. Family lore is that my Grandfather got it when he was logging in Alaska during the 1930's. I'm not sure if he panned for the gold and had the necklace made, or if he purchased it himself. I have always been curious about this piece and would welcome any information on it. I would also like to know what I should be insuring the piece for.
i have searched for matching pieces for the past 5 years on many websites and have not come across any like it, not once. it is white with gold trim, and has gold edging around the cup and saucer. there are clusters of forget-me-nots around both as well, primarily tiny blue flowers with small pink buds and green leaves. the pattern seems to be more delicate than many of the dainty dina series patters I have come across in my search. an elderly lady i cleaned house for many years back had a teacup collection and let me pick one out of her collection as a gift.
