Possibly Antique Whitetail Deer Mount

Category
Other
Condition
Good
Description

The seller claims it came from Georgia, "a long time ago." In other words, the age is unknown.
What I can tell you is, the mount appears to be in good shape with plenty of color in the skin, no splitting or drumming around the ears, etc.

When we removed the plaque from the back, it appears straw was used in the mount.

Also interesting, I just came across another antique head on ebay that has very similar features to mine in terms of the mount style, the hook in the back, and it has a certificate from 1924. I am mainly looking for info on how old my mount might be.

Any help is appreciated!

I bought this desk in the 1990's when Stickley furniture seemed to be at its peak price. I am moving to Alska and would like to sell some of my furniture rather than ship it all.
