I have an amber footed compote. Made by Imperial Glass in 1963. Pattern name is "Antique Buttons". Very rare and hard to find. It was purchased at a flea market in New Mexico about 18 years ago. The piece is in excellent condition. Octagon shaped lid and compote. Gold colored coins painted on each section of the octagon lid and base. Very unique piece. Item is listed in Volume One of the Imperial Glass Ency.
The base is a heavy metal, either brass, copper, or brass or copper plated lead. It is painted like a stained glass and has four gargoyle like creature at each corner of the base. The candle is also heavier than modern candles the same size and has a wood stain or laquer finish. The top of the candle has a ribbon motife that goes around the entire top of the candle. There is an engraving of either "F.M. circa 1917" or "F.T.M. circa 1717" on one of the ledges of the candle holder.
Dinning Room Set wood laminate. Table,6 chairs, hutch, buffet. Been in the family for years and is pretty banged up. Looking for someone who may be able to tell me how old it is and its value and maybe who makes it.
When my friend's were moving down south in 1995 they knew they couldn't take everything from their old house. Friends were invited over to take what they wanted. I spied this beautiful HUGE sugar and creamer set and couldn't resist. He said he thought it was part of a tea set his grandmother had but wasn't 100% sure. He figured it was from around 1910 or a little before. Pink and purple flowers (zinnias?) with gold and gold trim on handles, feet and rim or lip. No cracks or chips. A bit dusty because I'm afraid to really wash them. Franz Walter and Carlsbad under the name in reddish brown on the bottom of both. Number on it appears to be 904 but then the 9 could be a lower case g. Both have the same number so I'm assuming they were fired as part of a set.
