#34 - BUFFETING THE BILLOWS

Category
Paintings
Condition
Fair
Description

IMAGE OF LABEL ATTACHED which says:

Genuine Paynt Oyl

Illinois Moulding Co

#34 - BUFFETING THE BILLOWS

------------

Being this is #34, I would guess it was produced shortly after Illinois Moulding Co was first started back in 1898.

The painting needs a good cleaning.

I could not find another like it after an extensive Google search.

Out side of the frame is 22 1/2" x 30 1/2"

Being inside of the frame, I could not see a signature. There may be one hidden by the frame??

Could this be the only #34 that survived the last century, maybe.

When you click on viewing the painting picture, then right-click your mouse on it and select "open in a new tab" and you will get the large size of the picture.

Large brass/copper middle eastern serving tray

Category
Metalware
Condition
Excellent
Description

I have a very large, very heavy, hammered, engraved metal tray. 30” diam. with makers mark in Arabic/or Farsi . I inherited it from parents. We got it while overseas in 1974. Looks very old and wasn’t new when purchased. I need a translation of the engraving. I would love to find out if it was made during the Persian empire.

Pair of Art Deco female head sculpture

Category
Art Deco and Art Nouveau
Condition
Good
Description

Pair of Art Deco female head sculptures.  Material feels like heavy plaster of Paris.  Painted a medium-grayish blue.  Most likely from early 1930s.  18" tall x 18" wide at base x 8" deep at middle of face image.  These have been in my family for approximately 90 years.  My grandfather brought them home to my grandmother. I was told they were retail store fixtures.  I have looked all over online, in libraries, etc.  Never seen anything else like them.
