Know nothing about this. A friend of the family passed away, and this was in his collection. It has a signature, but we have been unable to decipher it. Would love to know more about it.
I am not sure of the material this is made of, the weight is heavy due to the mirror and beveled glass. There are no makings of the creator, but there is a small screw at the bottom of the handle. There are flowers all around the handle front and back and a woman in a hat on the back center.
bowl on a stand has 2 elk heads on the side of the bowl trim around it draped with flowers on it. top of handle has swans and people in a canoe with wheat on sides of handle
Eight (8) Antique Victorian Womens' Magazine of fashion, pictures, poems and stories circ. 1870's. Fragile condition with wear and tear to edges. The contents of each volume has lots of interesting reading. The great attraction is the illustrations and fold-out colored fashion plates. One - Two gorgeous fold-out prints that are hand colored. They are in pretty good condition and suitable for framing. Please see the photo of the close-up details. Additionally, there are several full-page, finely detailed fashion illustrations in black and white. Several small black and white advertisements on the last two pages and inside covers. You will definitely note the difference from current magazines which have ads from cover to cover on every page. Yearly subscription rate for this magazine was two dollars. Publisher Charles J. Peterson, 306 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pa
