A coworker wants to sell her cedar chest.  It has the Ed Roos Company of Forest Park 'moth' guarantee under the lid.  It is not in good condition, and the inlaid wood on the front has pretty severe damage.  I would like to buy the chest to refinish it, but I'm not sure what to offer her.  She did not give me a price, just wants me to make an offer.  I have found the same exact chest on Craigslist for $100, but it is in much better shape.  I was thinking of offering $50, I'd just like a better idea of the value of the piece before I offer anything.  I'm not looking to make a profit, I would keep this piece and love it.  From what I've read, Roos chests were mass-produced and aren't exactly rare or valuable.  Thanks!

We inherited this claw foot table and 4 chairs from my dad who inherited it from his parents.  Not really sure how old it is, but am guessing it is from the 1940's or earlier.

The first two pictures are before I cleaned it up--still in my dad's house.  The table is in good condition--does have a few cracks in the edge veneer on the table.  The table does split for leaves, but we don't have those.

Would like to sell it as really don't have room for it, but not sure how much it would be worth.

Please advise.

Was giving the following statue about 10 years ago and obtained by my brother as a gift in Honduras about 20 years ago. The statue is about 13 inches tall and weighs about 5 to 10 pounds give or take. Did some research on the item and i was told this resembles ITzamna. Not sure if would want to sell either but really curious about its value.

Beautiful original vintage watercolor by famous Chicago artist Edward Walaitis of winter landscape scene. 

Edward Walaitis was a self-taught artist whose professional work graced different mediums, from greeting cards to the Chicago Tribune Magazine.

He received many awards for his watercolors, from cityscapes to carousel horses. "He was known for his versatility of subjects," said daughter Maria Walaitis Barrett.

Mr. Walaitis, 91, of New Buffalo, Mich., and formerly of Barrington, who once directed the Tribune's advertising art department, died Friday, Feb. 25, in his home of natural causes.

In the early 1940s he moved to Chicago and worked for Montgomery Ward as an artist. He later did freelance work. In 1945, the year he married his wife, Marcia, Mr. Walaitis joined the advertising art department of the Tribune. He later became its director. He also spent 15 years in the editorial art department.

Male and female dolls with wooden carved shoes - and what look to be biscaloid heads. We do not know much about these dolls except that they belonged to father's mother (he was born in 1923). 

Rare Helen Jensen "Gladdie" doll produced by Borgfeldt Co. (Germany) in the 20s. Blue glass set eyes with working eyelids. Hard stuffed cloth body with riveted joints. Not sure about originality of the clothes she is wearing, but the doll is in great shape with some minor crazing (see pictures).
