Perfect "Old World with New World" decorating piece found in this charming hutch.
Purchased late 1980s at 7th Avenue Antique store in Phoenix, AZ. Consists of 2 pieces that seem to have original or antique hardware, both piece with keys. It is constructed of pine in unfinished wood surface that has been maintained with mineral oil to prevent cracking.
Composition doll with Dreamy Glass eyes, forehead curls, two front teeth. The doll has a button on the inside which indicates it made sounds at one time.
This is an approximately 12in. x 21in. watercolor painting on what appears to be fine cotton fiber paper.
The artist is scribed as Geo (George) Brickman. The date is unreadable, but the paper looks to be very old, and the card stock backing is very aged and crumbly on the edges.
The painting is of a bay scene with high waves on an apparently stormy day splashing against a rocky shore.
I have enclosed a shot of the entire picture, and a close-up of the artist's name.
To aid in identifying the painting I have enhanced the photos of the picture and name, and included copies of each.
