each item has a cat face from the neck up. On the back of the plates and the bottom of the cups it says Bavaria Schumann Arzberg Germany. Each cat has a different number
I found this at a thrift shop a few years ago and thought it was very interesting. It appears to be a whistle of some sort, made of clay or pottery. It has several animals on different sides of the piece, depending on which way you turn it. One side is an owl, another a giraffe, another like a pig or something and yet another is another animal, possibly a gnu or oxen or something. Each side has small holes in it and if you blow in them it makes a horm sound and you can cover different holes and get different pitches or tones from the piece. There is carvings on it to represent feathers or fur, and eyes.
This is a very unusual piece and I hope someone will know more about it's orgin and what exactly it is and possibly even an appraisal! Thanks for any help!
While these books are not in very good condition, some better than others, they each have some very nice illustrations of the presidents, and government buildings. I thought perhaps the illustrations themselves may be worth something. Just hoping i guess. Thanks for your time.
I purchased this painting in the original fram with backing approx 2 years ago from a tag sale. It look s as though the frame has been painted many times over the years. The backing is still in place though frayed slightly at the top. The silk painting is completely protected and in excellent condition.
I found a large spoon during excavation work at my family's farm in PA. It has the backstamp Superior Stainless USA and I think it is the INS150 pattern. Do you have any idea how old this piece is? I found it on a hillside that was being cleared which was nearly a quarter mile away from the properties original farmhouse. My grandparents have been here for 70 years. No one knows exactly how old the farmhouse is, but we have found newspaper insulation that dated back to the 1840's. Any info would be great!
