It is a forest scene divided between 3 seperate paintings forming one large painting. The larger of the three has a mountain in the background with a river in front of it. The sky is pastel colored.
The collection was used extensively in the 1880's by my grandfather , and therefore received some wear as evident in the photo. The glass marbles or "taws" were hand made by an unknown toy maker. The "marble" marbles were used like Jacks ,and are the reason that Marbles are so named today.
This beautiful Royal Winton dinnerware service for 12 dates back to the 1930's and features a beautiful, multi-coloured floral motif called "Dresden". This set was made by Royal Winton in the very popular "Athena" shape. The pieces are as follow:
