Coffee urn

Description

Hello,

I found this when I was cleaning out my grandmothers garage. I think its copper with brass fittings. Its heavy and looks as if one of the handles may have been replaced at one point. Am wondering if anyone knows anything about this item and maybe what its worth.

Thanks

Camphor Chest???

Category
Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

The measurements are ...24 inches high , 40 1/2 inches long, 20 1/2 inches wide. It has the sliding tray as you can see in the â€śinside” picture, on the left. All I know about it is my mom commandeered it years ago from a man that had been in the military. She was led to believe it was brought over from the orient. It was considered old when she took possession over 40 years ago. It has hand carvings on all 5 sides. If more photos are needed I can do that, with a little muscle to help move it. It is very heavy empty, and as you can see, it is full of childhood memorabilia. I would probably never sell it, but for insurance purposes, as well as curiosity, I need an appraisal. Any information on this chest would be greatly appreciated
