This is a William Fruet Photograph print entitled "Alberta Foothills" with framing 22 3/4" h x 16" w along with the original signed letter, addressed to Mr. Fruet congratulating him on the photograph making it into the Victoria Salon of Photography catalog and inviting him to exhibit at the International Exhibition of Pictorial Photography hosted by Leicester & Leicestershire Photography Society to be held in the City Art Gallery - New Walk - Leicester from April 6 th to May 5 th 1946.
the Galt Museum has the original negative and photograph, but this print is very unique and rare because of its own history - it has now become part of the fonds description at the Galt Museum in time dating the whole "Alberta Foot Hills" Series
Hello Virginia, I looked through the images of Fruet fonds and I found the photograph:
Cattle Graze in the Foothills of Southern Alberta #20011020176
Our photograph is the original negative. You, however, have a very remarkable and unique print that has its own history and very well documented provenance, which is very rare. I thank you for sharing this information – it helps me date the images we have. The image in question is currently dated incorrectly - 1955-1965. Now I suspect that the whole Foothills landscape series was probably done in the 1940s. I am going to add this information to the fonds description and credit you as the source. This is a vase supossely made of Iznik with the ottoman design and I'd like to know if it is really Iznik. It doesn't have any signature, the designs are not all strait as you could see in the pictures. Whatever it is, I would also like to know its price.
I have a painting with a tag from TMC-chicago. the name of the painting is Fantastic landscape by Francesco Guardi. It is labled item # T596 with a style # of 3883. Please give me any information you can on this piece of art.
