Do you have any idea what this type of chair would have been used for and its present day value. The back and sides are made from individual (small- 2" in length) spindles. They actually rotate. The chair is made of some kind of hardwood. The cushions are not the originals. Any assistance in identifying this piece would be greatly appreciated Thanks
This a small childs desk chair from around 1890's made by Chandler cast iron of Worcester, Mass. The height is approx. 21" high the seat made of wood is 12" across. The seat back brace is in the design of a butterfly. I read something about this and can't remember where. It has patent dates and Chandler on the base. The patent dates are not completely readable from little feet rubbing on it for over 100 years. There are two top says Nat. Nov 8 '92, bottom says Pat. July 9 '88 I'm guessing at this.
