This appears to be a Chinese graystone pottery funeral statue placed at the time of burial with the deceased. The glaze is a celadon with a blue flambe glaze applied on top. The base has writing, and Ming is the only word that I have been able to decipher, if that is correct. I would appreciate anyone's input or feedback on this. The ears are not orginal to the piece, and are not permenant.

This is a glazed ceramic figure of aman dressed in period wear. It is marked and numbered “COVENTRY Made in U.S.A. 5040A”. The color is predominantly green and white with pink and gold accents. It is 9 inches high. There are no chips or cracks but there is very faint crazing overall.
