I found this train engine in an old house I had been hired to clean out. It is about 7" long and 4" long. I can't find any markings on the train itself but I think I can make out the word Brown and 1918 inside the rear drive wheel. The writing is on a light green back ground. Any information about what it is and what it is worth would be greatly appreciated.
Beautiful Crystal Platter , signed by Svarc, in a Bohema Box, has a sticker that says Art Czechoslovakia. Has roses, thorny stems and bud cut into back
This table was reconditioned in 1929 by my Great Grandfather who was a furniture maker and carpenter from Czechoslovakia. Still has his label on underside of top stating this. It was eventually given to him for other work he did for that person.
From somewhat similar tables I've seen I beleive it to be a late 1800's Mejii era piece. The overall condition and finish are good. There are a few very small wear spots in the finish on sharp edges. The top and lower shelf are very slightly warped, but it sets perfectly fine on the floor. There is a 3-4" hairline (VERY narrow) crack on top in the wood grain from edge toward center. There is a stamp in the wood on underside of top "MADE IN JAPAN' . It is 23" tall with a 14" top.
It's valuation is a big question, but I suspect it is potentially relatively high given it's age and origin. Any help towards this end would be appreciated. I'm willing to sell once I get some idea of value.
