malabar coconut hookah from koyilandy,LOTS OF SILVER! unfinished stem

Category
Other
Condition
Good
Description

I recently aquired what seems to be a very old hookah from Koyilandi..it is extremely tarnished i started to clean it but then relized it might be better not too yet.it has fish around the bottome base some silver and some appear to be bronzed of some sort and the coconut shell area has peacocks and flowers..and what is really puzzling is the long stem that is usually all wood.on this one is completly covered in silver and has started to be intricitly carved, but unfortunatly for what ever reason it was not finished. the only markings i can find is where the base unscrews from the main part on each side there is a VII ..you can see where i started to clean the base ..but relized  how truly esxuisite this piece is that i probly should not & stopped..it is built around a coconut.what you see in the pics is all that i have there is no bowl or trays or hose unfortunatly.but seeing as it was not finished im not sure if those items were ever even with this piece

i am trying to find out how old this is? an estimated value?who and where it was made?anything about the long stem covered in silver but not finished ..

La ChasseA La Licorne

Category
China
Condition
Mint
Description

I have a set of 7 plates (all numbered 1 through 7) and they are all telling the story of the Hunt of the Unicorn. They are unchipped, come with the original booklet, in mint condition, boxed and individually wrapped.  Made by Robert Haviland and C. Parlon for Jaques Jugeat. I have pictures of one of the plates and can send in an email, but I need to know if they are even worth sending pictures or if the plates are just memoribelia that only family members will appreciate. They are gold trimmed and the pictures on the plates are in superb condition. There are two stamps on the back of the pates and one says Ch. Field Limoges La Chasse A La Licorne and the other says Edition Limitee Label De Qualite There is a backward F in between the two stamps..

Teddy Roosevelt Miniature Teddy Bear

Category
Antique Toys
Condition
Good
Description

Our company manages foreclosed and abandoned properties for a national loan servicing company.  This teddy bear was found in an abandonded property we are cleaning out.  Neighbors told us the property had previously been occupied by an elderly couple (they were tenants, not property owners) approximately 3 years ago.  The property has been vacant since then and both occupants are now deceased.  We were told the current owner bought the property and all it's contents sight unseen and apparently never made a payment as it is now bank-owned.  There are many old cards, letters, baptism and marriage certificates, etc dating back to the early 1900's.  We have found many very old books, antique kitchen utensils, etc.  The previous occupant was apparently a military man and had spent some time in Occupied Japan.  Any info you could provide regarding this teddy bear would be greatly appreciated.  The bear was stored in a zip lock bag in the back of a dresser drawer and included a hand written note "First teddy bear made by President Teddy Roosevelt 1903", photos of which are attached. The bear measures 5" from top of ear to bottom of foot.  Arms and legs are movable and are attached with what looks like a very small staple.  Eyes are glass beads and face details and seams appear to be hand stitched.  Bear is stitched down the front to close it after stuffing.  Thanks so much!
