Just rec'd this ornate, beautiful woman's dressing table/vanity. I cannot find any information other than the history of the furniture makers. This piece is very unique and does show normal wear. There are a few pieces missing in some of the scroll work. It looks to be two different woods and wood stains? Paper on back of vanity reads: Gettysburg Furniture. On the back of the mirror is written: 103-Van 2406. Auction numbers? On the bottom of the bench: Statesville Chair.
Art deco style lamp possibly from the 1930's. There is a UL listing type mark on the thumbwheel, but the wire cord shows that this was probably at the beginning of UL listing law (late '30's). Bulb fixture has "made in England stamped on it. Otherwise, there are no other markings.
Half shade is ivory. Base appears to be teak or some other hard wood. Working condition is good--just a little fraying in the threaded cord in one area, but wires are intact.
Colorful picture of 4 people dancing together. On the back a sticker says, "Turner's Limited Edition Collection. This picture is a true graphic of a limited number of prints of this subject made by or produced under the close supervison of the artist, and signed by him. It is therefore an original work of the artist, not a reproduction."
The art is signed, Amy Taylor, Dancers I, 94/100. It is matted and framed in a heavy gold metal frame.
