Vintage 1930's Wing Chair by Paine Furniture Company * Flawless Original Brocade Upholstery

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

Chair is part of my grandmother's estate. At the time of original purchase, the chair was fitted for a custom slip cover which was never removed until recently. Upon removal of slip cover, we discovered that the chair has the original brocade upholstery which is absolutely pristine and in flawless condition. No stains, marks, rips or tears whatsoever! Legs are ornately carved mahogany and in very good condition with the exception of a few, very minor, marks. The original tags are still intact and read as follows: body is 80% curled horse hair filler $ 20% cotton felt and seat cushions read: 75% white goose down & 25% white goose feathers. There is also an original tag with embossed gold lettering that reads: Paine Furniture Company established in 1835. Any help in establishing an approximate value would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your assistance!

Silver or Silverplate Serving Spoon

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Excellent
Description

I think this may be English. The closest hallmark I found was from John Round of Sheffield or Chester, but it's not a perfect match. I see no silver mark, so I'm thinking it may be silver plate.

Old Sir Galahad medalian necklace

Category
Other
Condition
Good
Description

A medallion of a man riding a horse with big letters "SIR GALAHAD" underneath. The necklace is a swirl design with flowers in the middle of each chain (no design is the same). The necklace was hand forged due the fact you can see see chisel marks (especially in the name). If someone is interested in telling me what this is i will definitely post pictures. So far research a lot and came up with absolutely nothing to do with this piece. No information at all. Please help, i am very interested in this piece.

brass grave rubbings

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Excellent
Description

I have two of these framed brass tomb rubbings. I am told they are from 1920's and rubebd from a cathederal in England. My very preliminary searches have shown that rubbings were outlawed many years ago ue to them defacing the original crypt plates making them of significant value. I cannot locate any in the north east Floria region. I am not sure if it is lack of interest or lack of items. I have a matching set of a "knight" and a "lady". I have uploaded the picture of the lady one only. The rubbing is on one sheet of parchment, cut out VERY cleanly and placed onto a mat type sheet. There is no tape or glue and look as though they were professionally framed some time ago. The glass lookes to be an older type of glass.
