It is an upright Chicago piano and as we looked at the back we were shocked when it said 1878 and as we were already looking to get rid of it we would like to know how much it is worth. We do not have pictures right now but we are getting some.
Belonged to my great grandmother and I'm guessing at the date based on when her children were born (late 1880s to mid 1890s. The seat panel appears to be some sort of very thin plywood. Back panel is unknown. There is no indication that the seat and back were ever caned. There are no manufacturers marks of any kind visible on the chair.
18" tall satsuma vase with gesiha and flowers, dragon handles on sides,, red background also has two gold brush marks on bottom-maybe one of kind----very rare if you can find another one like it,i would like to see itor e-mail me [email protected]
We think the train conductor used this hand held mini horn to announce train departures? It sounds exactly like a new year's eve party blower. It was bought not far from Paris in Tongeren, Belgium (near Liege) in an antique market. It has a copper mouthpiece and brass body and an engraving that says "Orient Express" framed by "Paris" and "Istambul". There is a place for a string to feed through suggesting it hung on a pocket or around the neck.
Photo included. Bought near Liege, Belgium in the oldest village in Belgium, Tongeren. There's a weekly antique market inside the roman walls. We bought this pig but the seller knew nothing about it. It has an asian feel to it, with asian eyes and markings that resemble figures you might find in Thailand or perhaps India? Many British colony items find there way to these markets so could be indian, pakistan, etc.
