Bought recently and this is the provenance that came with it:
This is a solid silver rose water / holy water asperillum presented to the archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, there is an inscription that apparently confirms this but I can't translate it. It weighs 220g and is stamped 830 purity silver. It measures 7.75ins tall and comes apart in 3 sections. It is the shape of an acorn and I am told is of ottoman origin. The previous owner was a charity who offered it to the catholic church in Scotland and that offer was declined.
eagle holding 6 arrows in left talon. 1 olive branch in right talon. sheild with red and white strips and looks like 13 stars . looks like 3 flags behind eagle with single feather on the tips. one missing feather. all red and white stips and stars. grey banner with union embroidered in center 2 tassels on the end.
