This bed is of very dark wood - not sure what type. There are glass castors on the bottom of the legs and inside writing that says ONWARD and something else I cannot make out. The frames are solid wood and there are no slats but and actual mesh spring foundation attached to a wooden frame that has various stamps on it. It states - Guaranteed Gold Metal Bedding, then a little further down the number 151, then a little further down it says No 0 HERCULES, then a little further is says TM REGISTERED with a colored oval picture and a little further down still is stamped the number 33. When made this bed was actually a single bed but by today's measurements a single mattress is just a little too long to fit - about 1 to 1 1/2" too long. I would be very interested to know when the bed was actually made and it's monetary value.
I found this in some of our old stuff. I googled around and, although there is no marking to indicate it, it "looks like" a Whiting and Davis Vintage Mesh handbag but I really have no idea. Since you guys are the experts in this stuff, can you help me figure this out? Here are some pics, any idea exactly what it is and what it's worth? The enamel is time worn but the mesh and links are all perfect. S Dingman
This is a bronze one sided cast dug up at an ofld foundation on a logging landing. There were several bottles which were dated to the mid-late 1800's no one can identify what this is.
There are two kind of designs with the same exterior appearance: silver coated. One of them, the "flower" design bears the "Thuringia" patern (see image) and there are 27 items of it. The other one, more simpler bears a "Johann Haviland" pattern which I couldn't find on the Internet and there are 6 items of it. Abot 80 procent of the items have their silver coating partially worn of.
