beautiful carved box ( jewelry box)

 

 appears to be walnut

full coverage carved , entire outside, top and all sides

the only place without carving is the oval inside the top lid and the outside bottom 

piano hinge

im seeking any info i may can get

 

I have loaded photo's that i hope depict the animals enough so that someone may help me name a few to help with my research , or that someone may actually have this type of box themselves and can help me with info.

Can anyone help me identify this glass?  I've REALLY tried!  Is it carnival glass?  Peachblow?  Amberina????  It has no identifying marks.  It's really thick and heavy!  Any help would be appreciated!!  Thanks!

 I have been trying to find out if this is mother of pearl earrings. 

they are clip earrings

i have attemped to get photo's that are close up so you can see the pattern of the markings on the "pearl" . To me it appears to be lines, not bloches.

I have read that is one way to tell the difference.  The teeth test- i just dont get that one. The coolness to the touch test- not helping me either.

 

but as far as the "diamonds" in the center, they look to be real via the light test i read about (looking for the colors to show under light) , no colors showed.

It is a six drawer dresser made from Maple. We have been told it was taken off the top of a larger piece and a base was made for it. We believe it is late 1700's or early 1800's.

 

Anyone have any idea what it may be worth?
