I discovered two paintings that are J N Hess/85 and did some research into the artist. These paintings must of been purchased by family long ago from a fine art gallery in PA. J N Hess was an artist who lived in PA and was a animal and landscape artist. His work has been sold at auctions and usually bringing anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 for his pieces. I am wondering if anyone can help me and where to sell these pieces at.
I know nothing about it other than someone said they believe it's French and from the early 1800's. It stands about 15-18" tall and weighs around 3 pounds. Made of copper and it is definitely handmade. There are no markings on it that Ive been able to find. Found in the Florida panhandle when it fell off a trailer loaded with scrap metal. I'm trying to get any details I can on it before I decide whether to keep it or sell it. Thanks
I have a brass antique jewelry lock box. All the research I have done shows the other ones like mine are all from Indian origin but the stamp on the inside of mine is of a Dittman, made in Germany with a crown marking.
Old spinning wheel. I believe it's what called a Castle spinning wheel. I was going to give this to a friend as part of a fundraiser for a charity and wondered what kind of price she should be asking. It is missing the strap that goes around the wheel to spin it. Spindle pulleys are not the originals. There is a crack that has been mended (see picture)
It’s a landscape piece which seems to be a real painting. Fall colours. In great condition. The sides of the frame are protected with pieces of thick paper.
