Box with brass hardware (for pool cue?)

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Good
Description

Wooden box  used to hold pool cue I think. Inside was originally a green felt; stripped and box refinished. Wood type unknown. Center of lid used to hold a metal piece, probably with initials of the owner of the box. the four corners are encased in brass. The lock piece is brass but there is no key. There are brass hooks to secure the box closure.
