This is an oil painting. It looks like it is at least 40 years old, maybe older. The name in the bottom right is Benoit (or Bennett?). I am sure it is the same artist as this painting I found on this site: (http://instappraisal.com/antique-appraisal/oil-painting-street-scene-si…) 

The painting looks like a french scene. The colors are very muted. Large paint globs. 

In doing research, it looks like this is probably a mass produced Caoline Burnett painting. The signature is not capitalized. I have not inspected the canvas edges. That being said, I believe this painting, though pretty, is probably only worth about $20. I would love another opinion. 

These have been in the family for at least 50 years - don't know much more than that.

This item has a Mottahedeh Sticker on back as well as "Italy x748/w" handwritten on the back. The dimensions are 17in x 22in and depicts what appears to be Cupid and his mother (?) on the front, along with the phrase, "Cupide desarme par Euphrosine".

The platter is tin and has handles on each side.   The picture is chipping, so determining the age of the piece is difficult. 

I have searched online for quite some time, yet have been unable to locate a duplicate.
