Rare? Buffalo FINE China Sugar & Creamer - Early 1900s Nippon handpainted pattern

Category
China
Condition
Good
Description

This sugar and creamer set is backstamped "Buffalo China 1918" and matches a dessert set of plates, cups and saucers that are handpainted Nippon from the 1910s. My research revealed that during the 1920s and 30s, the Larkin Co. of Buffalo, New York, offered its mail order customers several popular patterns of Noritake china as a premium with their mail orders. This sugar and creamer set appears to pre-date that offer and is not one of the patterns listed in the catalogs I could find.

Both pieces are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.  The gold has some tiny "bubbling" which I expect occurred at the time of manufacturing and minor wear commensurate with age.

Could this be a rare item?  Any information would be much appreciated.

Brown Jug

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Condition
Good
Description

This "little brown jug" was salvaged from a 103 year old farmhouse in northern California. There are no discernible markings on it, except for the number "2" on the top near the handle. There is a circular indented line around the top of the jug, starting and ending between the top and bottom of the handle. The bottom is tan in color and the jug is dark brown. There is a cork in the jug, which looks pretty old and dried out, that we have not attempted to remove. The jug is 29" in diameter and about 12" tall.
